Enemies Convert To Friends Ch. 14

"Okay, either I'm tripping out, or people are starting to disappear right in front of us," X-Ray said in shock as he and the other Strike Squad members witness the civilians suddenly vanishing before their eyes. To say that they were frightened was an understatement.

"If you're tripping out, why am I seeing people vanish?" Bravo asked dryly.

"Guys, calm down," Alpha ordered. "If we think about this rationally, we can get out of it."

"I really hate to tell you this, but none of you are getting out anytime soon," a voice called out. The Strike Squad turned around to see a man with green hair walk towards them with a purple Core in his hand.

"Who are you?" Alpha asked, his hand reaching for his own Core.

The man chuckled while adjusting his glasses. "Well, I'm glad you asked. My name is Jacob, one of the Swords of Umbra. You may also call me 'Zweihänder'." The man gave a dramatic bow.

Alpha glared at him. "That sounds familiar... who am I kidding, of course it's familiar. You're with the Umbra Rebellion, aren't you?"

Jacob sighed, then grinned sadistically. "Well, I see you've done you're homework, Specialist Alpha. Yes, it's true that I am with the Umbra Rebellion. In case you haven't noticed, we're the people responsible for messing up your bases and throwing wrenches into your operations."

"I knew that sounded familiar," Kilo hissed. "You Rebels are all Commandant-Marshall Charlemagne rant about. You've really lit a fire under her."

Jacob shrugged. "I won't deny that, but in all honesty, it's not my fault she's so hot-headed."

"How dare you insult her like that!" Alpha yelled as he brought his Core out along with the rest of the Strike Squad. Jacob laughed and raised his Core at them.

"So, it's a fight you want, huh? Then I'll give it to you!" Jacob threw his Core into the air and lifted his leg. "Ouroboros..." As the Core decended, Jacob kicked it before it could hit the ground. "Launch!" The Core flew at breakneck speeds from the force of his kick. It eventually hit a nearby wall and the energy expelled itself from the Core. The energy revealed a purple snake with four eyes, sparrow wings and a dagger-like tail. It was a Monsuno like no one has ever seen before.

"What kind of Monsuno is that?" X-Ray exclaimed in shock.

"I don't know, and I don't care," Alpha growled. "All I know is that we've got trouble on our hands and that we need to deal with it. Right now."
